Rhino Camera Gear is a manufacturer of professional sliders and stabilization rigs for videographers and photographers alike. Recently, Rhino Camera Gear sent me one of their powered sliders to test out! The Rhino 24" EVO Slider is truly a unique piece of equipment that will surely increase the production value of your video production and photo time lapses. Check out the video below I made where I demonstrate the product and it's capabilities!
The EVO slider is a very durable yet lightweight slider option that is easy to use and transport. The model is available in both 24” and 42” rail sizes, (I received the 24” unit for testing). This carbon fiber body is able to support a load of up to 15 lbs. The carbon fiber rails can be interchanged at any time for stainless steel at any time which can support a much greater weight, but are much heavier.
Right out of the box and case the slider is very user friendly, easy to set up, and fun to use. I had no issues at all while setting up the slider for use. If you do need assistance, they have a very clear and easy to read booklet that explains how to set it up and run the system.
The legs of the slider are very easy to set up and adjust, they lock down strong, giving the slider a strong base. The feet of the legs move and shape to the surface below them, so if you manage to find yourself in some unstable and rocky areas, the legs and feet make it easy to set up regardless. If you want to set the slider up off the ground, the slider comes with a built in mounting plate that will allow you to set it up on a tripod for elevated shots.
Whether you want to manually move the slider and camera with your hands or use Rhino's motion control system and remote, Rhino allows you to have complete control over their slider system. The motion control system is not only useful since it takes your hands away from the camera, but it's also just ALOT of fun to play with!
For those interested in, or looking for a slider, the Rhino EVO Carbon seems like a dream come true. The system is easy to use, durable, lightweight, intuitive, travel friendly, and very very cool!
The Rhino Slider EVO Carbon isn't the cheapest option out there when it comes to sliders, but it certainly is a killer setup that any hardcore videographer or photographer should have in their arsenal.
